My Special Dream - Reset Button
My sleep last night was accompanied by two very different dreams — one a bad one and one a special one that had me waking up with a smile of joy on my face.
Dream 1: No Passport
I was going overseas with members of my women’s club. We approached a departure window where our passports were to be checked. It was then I remembered that mine was expired. I bluffed my way through, then wondered if I should check with the woman if they would let me into the US when we arrived. I woke up.
Dream 2: The Weird Laptop
I was in an office typing away on a laptop. It was a community computer and was behaving very strangely. I would type the keys, but different letters came out. Sometimes they were stings of letters instead of the one I had typed, sometimes single but incorrect characters. Frustrated, I looked toward the outer office where a handsome black man sat. Guess who! I waved at Barack, and he stopped his work and came over to help. Instead of getting into the detail of trying to figure out what had gone wrong, he hit the reset button.
I jumped up and with no self-consciousness at all, threw my arms around his neck and gave him the biggest hug. He hugged back. And when we faced each other again, his face was filled with joy. I said to him, ‘Tell me, how does it really feel.’ And he answered, ‘It is so good.’
I don’t think I’ll ever forget that beaming smile nor the warmth and comfort of that embrace.
I’m not sure it was a dream, but I hope it is a dream come true.
